Mariah Carey, the celebrated pop singer, is grappling with the double tragedy of losing both her mother, Patricia Carey and estranged sister, Alison Carey, on one dark day. Carey cried out her sadness to the people in a statement early in the week.

“My heart is shattered by my mother’s loss this past weekend,” exposed Carey, 55, on Monday. “Regrettably, my sister also died that same cruel day. ”

Alison Carey’s Life Ends in Tragedy

Alison Carey, Mariah’s elder sister by seven years, called Coxsackie, New York her home. She and Mariah had cut their sisterly ties ages ago and waged legal conflicts. Mariah was allegedly sued by Alison for $1.2 million in the year 2021 on the grounds that Mariah’s memoir was causing her extreme emotional distress.

Alison’s life was a battlefield, fighting homelessness, drug dependencies, and health issues. Her companion and nursing aid, Dave Baker saw her spend her last days receiving home-care due to organ complications. Despite Alison’s hardened exterior, Dave describes her as an “intelligent, warm, and sensitive soul. ”

Baker let it be known that Alison spent the last three weeks of her life under home care. The tragedy of her passing was foreseen. He stated, “We knew she was nearing her end. ”

After both losses, Mariah recalls the final week she spent with Patricia before she left forever. “I feel blessed that I got to have one last week with my mom,” she said. She also thanked everyone for their love and moral support but also requested solitude during this hard time.
