Sequence of Events

If we look at what happened right before the accident unfolded, it can be insinuated that the girls were moving fast on the jet ski. Their path unfortunately led to them directly clashing with the Sea Ray Cabin Cruiser which was heading westward towards Grass Lake. There seems to have been no attempt by them to swerve away from their course resulting in an inevitable collision.

Official Statements and Investigation

Chris Covelli who is Lake County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Chief referred to this incident as a “tragic and unfortunate accident.” He confirmed that investigation of this incident will be carried out with collaborative effort between his own department’s Marine Unit and Illinois Conservation Police.

Preliminary Investigation Findings

If we look at what has already been deciphered from initial bits of analysis it can be established that the jet ski failed to change course despite high-speed leading to unavoidable collision. The Sea Ray Cruiser had absolutely zero time to move or act which could have potentially saved them. The jet ski wasn’t rented, which leads us to believe that possibly it belonged to someone else. Confirming of facts related to its ownership are currently under way.
